Malmo cocktail sour

Malmo cocktail sour

In late November we went for lunch at Skol Bar in Scarborough. They are great crew, and the venue is amazing – chilled, Scandi kinda feel to it.

We were presented with this fresh, crisp cocktail called Malmo, which was like nothing like we had tasted before!

After it didn’t take long before we were talking about how this could be an incredible sour beer.

We got to work with Ben and Maddi to design a beer that celebrated the profile of Malmo.

It took some solid advice from Ben about the design of the beer and blending of flavours, but we feel like this comes pretty close!

There are smashed lingonberries, cumquats from Mum’s tree to give tartness, a heap of unpasteurized lime juice for zing plus a very light touch of lemon myrtle (that stuff is powerful!)

This is a refreshing sour to enjoy during the last weeks of summer (if it ends!).

The 7.5% ABV is hidden in the bold flavours so just sit yourself down, watch the sun set and stay still!
